I think a lot of times we expect to feel confident or bold before jumping out into deep waters. The fact is confidence and boldness come with experience and experience is always preceded by faith.
Think about it. When you got hired at your first job, you probably started nervous. There was a fear of the unknown, but you had to be brave and show-up and just put one foot in front of the other until it all started to make sense. Life is a lot like your first job.
It takes guts to show-up, to dig deep, and trust in the unseen. At the same time, in this scary, unsure place is where you are most likely to find God. This is His area of expertise. He lives for this stuff! And He wants us to trust Him enough to see us through the unknown.
Do It Afraid.
If you practice doing it afraid long enough, it will become natural to you. Instead of fear being an indicator to run the other direction, it will become an indicator of going to a new level.
What is God asking you to do that scares you?
